I am a psychologist with a private practice in central Austin. I have over twenty years experience treating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and relationship difficulties in adolescents and adults. I work with individuals, couples, and groups.
My therapy style is warm, respectful and collaborative. I carefully choose the treatment method that best fits your existing strengths and goals. My philosophy assumes that you are the ultimate agent of change in your life and that I am a resource for you.
Our work together will begin by my getting an idea of what’s going on today and what brings you to therapy. Together, we will explore the specifics of your pain or conflict and what you hope to get from therapy.
A standard treatment for more than 50 years, group therapy is extremely beneficial in treating depression, anxiety, and feelings of isolation. Group therapy provides a safe place where you can come together with others to share problems or concerns, to better understand your own situations, and to learn from and with others. Group therapy can help you create more satisfying relationships, become more self-accepting, and find a sense of belonging. Most importantly, groups help rebuild self-esteem. Ensuring that you feel safe in the group is of primary importance to me.
